About

A home for young people who intend to decide things.

Who we are

Zindora

Zindora is a youth leadership organisation registered in Kenya and working from Nairobi. We sit at the intersection of climate change, leadership, civic participation and decision-making.

We are new. We would rather tell you that plainly than dress a young organisation in the language of an established one. What follows is what we intend to do and how, and as work happens it will be documented on this site with dates and sources attached.

Why Zindora exists

The people who inherit a decision are rarely in the room for it.

Climate policy in practice is a long series of ordinary decisions: a drainage budget, a land-use plan, a water allocation, a county priority. Each one is made by somebody, and each one will still be shaping a community in thirty years.

The people who will live with those decisions longest are usually the least represented when they are taken. Not because they lack views, but because participation has requirements: knowing when a consultation is happening, being able to read the document, having somewhere to stand, and being taken seriously once there.

Zindora exists to make those requirements learnable and reachable.

Mission

To equip young people with the leadership, policy, communication and civic skills to participate meaningfully in decisions shaping climate resilience and the future of their communities.

Vision

A generation of young leaders who are present, prepared and credible in the places where climate decisions are actually made.

Values

  • Evidence before claims

We publish what we can show, with a date and a source. Where we have no evidence yet, we say so.

  • Capability before awareness

Understanding a problem is the start. Being able to act on it is the point.

  • Participation, not permission

Young people are not a consultation exercise. They are participants with a longer stake than anyone else present.

  • Honest about scale

We will not describe ourselves as larger, older or more established than we are.

Leadership

Our team

We will publish our leadership here by name, with their roles and backgrounds. We are not going to fill this section with stock portraits or invented biographies in the meantime, because an organisation asking young people to trust it should be knowable.

If you need to reach someone now, write to info@zindora.org and a person will answer.

Work with us, or come and learn.
